COMMISSION ON EDUCATION

 Purpose:
  • To show that GUMC is committed to educational growth and development of our high school graduates.
  • To encourage our scholars to achieve their best
  • To share the good news that Jesus Christ changes lives, to build positive relationships and to give ‘positive validation’
  • To support our young people with their educational endeavers.

Criteria
  • High School graduates within the academic year the award is to be used.
  • Must complete a Grace United Methodist Church (GUMC) Undergraduate Scholarship Application
  • Acceptance and proof of registration in college for the freshman year.
  • Should be an active member of GUMC.

For the academic year 2015-2016, parents must encourage their children who are currently in twelfth or eleventh grade to give their names to any member of the committee. We are willing to work with your child to meet the requirements for high school graduation and how to obtain other scholarships. We emphasize that these students should take the ACT and SAT college examinations.

Our Philosophy is taken from Proverbs 4: 11-13
“ I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths
When you walk, your steps will not be hampered,
When you run, you will not stumble
Hold on to instruction, do not let it go,
Guard it well, for it is your life.”
